In most countries it is usual to shake hands when introduced to somebody.
Be careful, though, and find out more information about the particular country you're going to visit.
Japan, for example, is known for bowing, and in many Muslim countries men never shake hands with women. In Fiji, handshake is usually much longer than in Europe. You shouldn't be surprised if the person holds your hand for the most of your conversation.
Most English-speaking people are very open and usually prefer being
called by their first name. It doesn't have to be a rule for everybody, though. So be careful and wait
until you're offered this, as it's not a problem to call each other by surname while negotiating in
Czech.
